Arkansas billboard business alerts drivers during Tornado Warnings

These Tornado Warning messages will run uninterrupted – not bothering the golf veiwers – until the warning ends. These Tornado Warning messages will run uninterrupted – not bothering the golf veiwers – until the warning ends.

This particular system was used on the 30th April in specified areas. The business said the new alert system went into effect and displayed on thirty three digital billboards in northwest Arkansas area alerting drivers of the potential danger.

Jim Matalone, CEO of The Ashby Street Outdoor Advertising, suggested these billboards are seen by nearly one hundred thousand people. Quote from the CEO can be found below:

“Drivers nowadays don’t listen to radio anymore or not as much and hopefully not looking at their phone so if you are thinking about it you might not be aware you might not know there is a Tornado warning. It was a need, we felt like we were able to fill.”
